Let’s not forget that our eyes are living organs, taking care of them should be paramount. By neglecting to have regular eye exam you are putting yourself at risk for several eye-related issues that could develop without your knowledge. The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends patients undergo eye examinations every 2 years. Some of the most common eye conditions patients face as they grow older can include:
Presbyopia
Cataracts
Diabetic retinopathy
Age-related macular degeneration
Glaucoma
Our comprehensive eye and vision examination will include the following:
A history about your eye and general health including any medications you take and any allergies.
Investigation of eye coordination and visual perception including how your eyes perceive depth or color.
How well you see with and without glasses and your glasses or contact lens prescription.
Ocular health assessment includes the pressure inside your eye, and peripheral vision. It’s possible that you may need eye drops to dilate your pupil for a better view of the retina inside your eye.
Depending on what we find during the examination, we will recommend any treatment options or management plans that are best suited to your eye health.
